India Mahdavi presents her vision of a bedroom between dreams and reality:

« Tonight, everything is unusual. My four-poster purple and red lacquered rattan bed is at an angle and dressed with silver disco sheets. My oversized underwear is on the floor. Floating in between « why not green » and fine lily velvet, George the elephant enters the room and occupies my dream. As I turn to my side table, my pleated bedside lamp flickers. Am I dreaming? Am I awake? Or am I just falling asleep? »

This scenography is an excerpt of the brief hallucinations that sometimes precedes sleep. At the gates of consciousness, the surrounding environment becomes an abstraction of itself and external elements start appearing into the scenery. What we see is a projection on our existing sense of reality. India translated her unconstrained vision in the project room by introducing elements rich in volume and colour. The four-poster purple and red lacquered rattan bed that she designed is integrated with a bed base and a mattress manufactured by Le Lit National. India also invited cc-tapis to unroll their underwear carpets made in collaboration with Perks and Mini, and Folkform, to expose their pleated lamp. The curtain that swathes the space is a Fine Lily velvet from the True Velvet collection that India developed for Pierre Frey, on a « why not » green background from India’s Flowers collection with Mériguet-Carrère.
